A7 Music School
We believe music should be taught face to face. Learning via online sources such as Zoom and Youtube can be have it's benefits, but you will be able to reach your goals faster with in person lessons.
We built the A7 Music School with you in mind. Brand new, clean, and comfortable teaching studios to make sure you learn in the best environment possible with some of the best instructors in the nation.
Music Is one of the best things you can do for your mind, body, and spirit and we look forward to helping you on your journey.
MY STORY
Terry Carter comes from a long lineage of musical talent.
Inspired by his grandpa Chuck who use to play guitar and harmonica at barn dances in Los Angeles with the west coast version of the Carter Family throughout the 1930's-1940's.
As a kid Terry picked up grandpa Chucks old National guitar and was encouraged to learn how to properly play.
After completing his Bachelors of Art in Music Education from San Diego State University Terry was offered a teaching assistant scholarship to complete his Master of Music in Studio/Jazz Guitar from the University of Southern California.
It was upon graduation that grandpa Chuck gifted Terry that National guitar from the 1920's that had been his inspiration for all these years.
Terry went on to spend 20 years as a Los Angeles Studio Musician working with greats like Weezer, Josh Groban, Robby Krieger (The Doors), 2-time Grammy winning composer Christopher Tin (Calling All Dawns), Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses), Grammy winning producer Charles Goodan (Santana/Rolling Stones), and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
Terry has written and produced tracks for commercials (Discount Tire and Puma) and TV shows, including Scorpion (CBS), Pit Bulls & Parolees (Animal Planet), Trippin’, Wildboyz, and The Real World (MTV). He has self-published over 25 books for his Uke Like The Pros and Rock Like The Pros brands and has filmed over 30 online courses, with hundreds of thousands of social media followers and millions of views on his videos.
Terry has taught at the University of Southern California, San Diego State University, Santa Monica College, Miracosta College, and Los Angeles Trade Tech College.
