2023 Private Lesson Policies 

Our educators set aside specific hours, meticulously prepare for your sessions, and contribute to the enduring growth of each learner. For us to consistently offer high-quality educational experiences, it is imperative that the subsequent guidelines are adhered to.

Membership Tuition:

  1. Tuition is a flat monthly fee,  regardless of how many weeks per month. Most months you will have four (4) lessons, you will not be charged more if a month has five (5) lessons. Occasionally you will have three (3) lessons per month when in observance of major national holidays (see our calendar).
  2. Tuition is due on the first of each month and is billed automatically to your credit card  (“Auto-pay”) on the 1st of the month.
  3. A $25 late fee will be charged for payment received after the 10th of each month for failed credit card payments or non auto-pay members.
  4. A $25 fee will be charged for each returned check.
  5. A $50 non-refundable registration fee is due at initial sign-up ($10 discount for siblings and returning members).
    • Returning Member is a member with one (1) or more months gap between enrollments.
  6. Included in the membership:
    • Weekly lesson time with your teacher. (Except when the studio is closed for holidays. See our calendar.
    • Two (2) yearly recital performance opportunities at no additional cost (Spring and Summer Recitals, on a first come first serve basis.
    • Accompaniments may be an additional fee.
  7. Instruments, instrument rental, books, and other accessories are additional cost.
  8. Members may purchase additional lessons for recital preparation.

Attendance:

  1. Students are expected to be prepared and punctual to their weekly lessons.
  2. Students who are late for a lesson cannot be guaranteed their full lesson time.

Missed Lesson:

  1. No tuition credit or refund will be provided for missed lessons.
  2. A Make-up Lesson Credit will be issued when a lesson is cancelled with at least 24-hour advance notice (By email or online).
    • Cancellations made with less than 24-hour notice will NOT qualify for a Make-up Lesson Credit (This includes being sick the day of a scheduled lesson).
    • No more than three (2) Make-up Lesson Credits can be pending at a time per membership.
    • Make-up lesson credits can be used to schedule a Make-up Lesson online or by email at any time with your teacher or other available teacher.
    • Make-up Lessons cannot be rescheduled.
    • Make-up Lesson Credit(s) expire after 60 days from the time of the cancelled lesson.
    • If you cancel you membership, any Make-up Lesson Credit(s) will expire 30 days after membership ends.

Substitutions:  

  1. You may decide to change teacher or instrument with a 14-day advance notice before the 1st of the month.
  2. If your teacher is unable to teach a lesson, a substitute teacher will be arranged.
  3. Regular lesson cancellation policy applies to substitute teachers. No Make-up Credit is issued for last minute substitutions.
  4. If your teacher becomes unavailable for regular lessons, you will be provided a new teacher with similar teaching style, or the opportunity to choose a new teacher.
  5. If your teacher cancels a lesson you will receive a Make-up Lesson Credit.

Membership Cancellation: 

  1. Membership may be cancelled by submitting our ONLINE CANCELLATION FORM
    • Cancellation Form must be received by the 15th of the month to take effect at the end of that month.
      • Example: Cancellation Form received on the 16th of May is billed for June and takes effect at the end of June.
    • There are no exceptions.
  2. You may withdraw the cancellation at any time before it takes effect but your teacher and/or time slot can not be guaranteed.
    • A $50 returning student registration fee will be required to re-enroll once the withdrawal takes effect.
  3. Active membership is mandatory to participate in our events and recitals. All registration(s) will be withdrawn at the time of membership cancellation.
  4. All Make-up Lesson Credit(s) on your account expires in 60 days from the cancellation effective date.
  5. Membership is not transferable.
  6. A7 Music School does not provide tuition refund under any circumstances.
  7. A7 Music School 1 Music Studio reserves the right to terminate membership, in which case prorated tuition will be refunded.

Summer Hold (June, July, August):

  1. You may exceptionally put a membership on “Summer Hold” for up to two (2) months with a 14-day notice before the 1st of the month.
  2. Your lesson time and teacher will be reserved only by pre-paying tuition for the returning month. (Latest resume date is September 1st).
  3. While on summer hold, members may exceptionally purchase individual lessons.

Care of Students:

A7 Music School is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students.

Injuries:

You assume all risk of injury or harm to the child(ren) or adult(s) associated with participation in musical activities at A7 Music School LLC and Blinky Publishing LLC (dba Terry Carter Music Store). You agree to release, indemnify, defend and forever discharge A7 Music School LLC, Blinky Publishing LLC, and its officers and staff from all liability, claims, demands, damages, costs, and expenses in the unlikely event of injury sustained by your child(ren) or adult student during the course or as a result of their participation in A7 Music School LLC activities both on and off premises.

Photo/Video Release: 

Unless requested in writing, A7 Music School LLC is granted permission to take photographs/videos of the students to use in brochures, websites, posters, advertisements, and other promotional materials A7 Music School creates.  Permission is also hereby granted for A7 Music School LLC to copyright such photographs and videos in its name.
